A rare uncut sheet of small format posters for a performance by country music legend Johnny Cash with Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco on Wednesday 24th April 1968. The frontier style poster design alludes to Cash's Native American activism and unproven Cherokee heritage. Following his recent marriage to longtime sweetheart June Carter in March 1968, the Carousel Ballroom concert took place during the brief period when the venue was operated by a collective of bands including the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane, before it was taken over by promoter Bill Graham and renamed as the famous Fillmore West.
