A striking handbill for a cancelled performance by Jimi Hendrix at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Ft. Worth, Texas, scheduled for 27th September 1969. Following Jimi's iconic appearance at Woodstock with Gypsy Sun and Rainbows in August 1969, he disbanded the Gypsies and cancelled a number of upcoming tour dates to focus on studio recording. Hendrix made it back to Ft. Worth in May 1970, only a couple of months before his untimely death. Featuring a photograph by Karl Ferris set against a vibrant psychedelic purple, this groovy handbill was no doubt inspired by Hendrix's hit song Purple Haze.
