A bright and colourful poster designed by renowned American graphic artist Seymour Chwast for a performance by Judy Garland at the Lincoln Center Philharmonic Hall, New York, on Sunday 25th February 1968. Co-founder and principal of the influential graphic design and illustration studio Push Pin Studios, Chwast's often whimsical designs are noted for their absolute flatness and dynamic colour, integrating illustration and typography into a cohesive whole. Above a Pop Art portrait of a joyful Judy, Chwast used his own typeface 'Blimp' to spell out the name of the beloved star, who would be found dead of an accidental overdose only a year later at the age of 47. A copy of this poster is held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
