A simple small format black and white boxing-style poster for a series of performances by all-female American rock band The Runaways at Los Angeles' famous Whisky-A-Go-Go nightclub on the Sunset Strip from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th June 1978. Originally performing as a trio, the band had made their debut at Whisky in late 1975, billed as the Heavy Metal School Girls. Although advertised as a "bon voyage" farewell tour appearance, the Runaways would in fact go on to perform at the venue again in September and December 1978 before breaking up in April 1979. Following the departure of Cherie Currie and Jackie Fox the previous year, the band at this point comprised founding members Joan Jett and Sandy West, plus Lita Ford and Vicki Blue.
