A feature-length compendium of three previously released Walt Disney animated shorts based on A.A. Milne's beloved Winne-the-Pooh books, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh brought together Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966), Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968), which won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Subject, and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (1974), with Sebastian Cabot's superb narration of the bumbling pooh-bear throughout. Walt Disney had always intended to produce an animated feature with Pooh, Piglet and pals, but first decided to introduce the less familiar American audiences to the characters over a series of animated shorts, although he only lived to see the first completed. Thanks in part to Disney's efforts, the cast of characters is known and loved the world over.
