Sean Connery was paid a then record $1.25 million to return as James Bond for EON Production's Diamonds Are Forever, his sixth and final outing as Bond after declining the role in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. A diamond smuggling investigation leads 007 to Las Vegas, where he uncovers an extortion plot headed by his old nemesis Blofeld. This scarce Japanese two-panel STB poster features the same explosive Robert McGinnis artwork as the US One Sheet poster, depicting the suave British spy in a blaze of action, flanked by Bond girls Tiffany Case and Plenty O’Toole.
The tall and slender Japanese 'STB' or 'Tatekan' poster format was printed on two standard Japanese B2 poster sheets, designed to overlap to form an awesome 58 x 20 inches for display in cinema standing boards, door panels and ticket booths. Printed in far smaller quantities than the regular B2 posters and discontinued in the mid-1970s, surviving STB posters are rare and sought after by collectors, particularly for the most beloved and iconic movie titles.
