This rare poster with a delightfully peppy design by Linda Fennimore was released for the teaser campaign ahead of the summer 1978 release of Paramount's blockbuster musical romance Grease. Based on the Broadway musical of the same name, the feelgood film starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as 1950s high school seniors and star crossed lovers, unexpectedly reunited at Rydell High after a summer romance. The film's infectious soundtrack, explosive energy and colourful nostalgia made it a phenomenal success, grossing $400 million worldwide, and becoming the highest grossing musical ever at the time.
