"Cyclemaniacs assaulting and killing for thrills! Bike riding hoodlums flat-out on their murder cycles."
A motorcycle blasts through the newspaper headlines on this explosive US One Sheet poster for Russ Meyer's sleazy 1965 sexploitation flick Motorpsycho, which focused on the violent exploits of a desert motorcycle gang led by a sadistic Vietnam veteran. After a veterinarian's wife is raped by the trio, he joins forces with a Cajun woman whose husband they killed to hunt down the perpetrators and seek revenge. Shot in black and white, the film features all the hallmarks that Meyer's successful sexploitation series became known for - sex, violence and busty women, naturally, but also camp humour and sly satire. The film was such a big hit that Meyer decided to make a similar flick about a female gang of bad girls, leading to his better-known Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! which would become a cult classic. The Los Angeles Times said the two movies "pack as much sex and violence as possible on the screen without bringing in the police. In fact, they're so ludicrously erotic and sadistic they can be taken as parodies of the entire genre of exploitation pictures."
