A quirky photomontage design by Jiri Hillmar for the first Czech release of the lavish 1963 epic Cleopatra, starring Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and Rex Harrison. The most expensive film ever made at that time, requiring 26,000 costumes and 79 sets, the production was hampered by overruns and the near fatal illness of its leading lady, almost bankrupting 20th Century Fox. A media frenzy surrounding the notorious affair between co-stars Burton and Taylor ensured the film closed as the highest grossing of the year, albeit at a loss due to the astronomical production costs.
